A major fishing port with award-winning sandy beaches. The first ever Scottish Lighthouse was built here and is now part of Scotland's Lighthouse Museum. Thomas Blake Glover spent his childhood here. He founded the modern Japanese Navy and the successful Mitsubishi motor car company. Fraserburgh Heritage Centre opened in 1998. Visit the working meal mill at Sandhaven nearby and Maggie's Hoosie at Inverallochy. Along the coast to the west you will find the ruins of the 15th century Pitsligo Castle
